Practical experience: (1992-1997) Secretary General of the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI); (1993) as of 1 January 1993 partner with Schellenberg & Haissly (now Schellenberg Wittmer) in Zurich; (1996-2003) Secretary-General of the Comité Maritime International (CMI); as of February 1999 Associate Professor (Privatdozent) at the University of Zurich for International Trade Law; (1999) Director of the Centre of The Hague Academy of International Law (International Law of Maritime Transportation), The Hague, Holland; 2003 to present Member Expert Group of UNCITRAL on Trade Fraud; (2005) Professor (Titular professor) at the University of Zurich for International Trade Law.
